Privacy

The tools on this site run in your browser. What you type into a calculator or receive from a connected device is processed on your own computer and is not sent to us.

What we collect

We do not run accounts, sign-up forms, analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we do not set cookies.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Stored in your browser

EM·LINK keeps your settings, sessions, macros and theme in your browser's local storage, and captured files in IndexedDB. This stays on your device. Clear your browser's site data to remove it.

Third-party requests from EM·LINK

The tool pages load fonts and files from this site only. EM·LINK loads a few files from other servers:

  • fonts from Google Fonts when EM·LINK opens;
  • the MQTT client library from unpkg.com when you use MQTT;
  • the map library from unpkg.com and map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you open the GPS map.

Because of this, MQTT and the GPS map need an internet connection. Everything else in EM·LINK runs without a network connection once the page has loaded.

Those servers see your IP address and browser details for those requests. Connections you open yourself, such as a WebSocket server or an MQTT broker, go directly to the address you enter.

USB serial uses your browser's own permission prompt: EM·LINK can open only a port you pick there, and data from the device stays on your computer. USB serial needs desktop Chrome or Edge; in other browsers the option is greyed out and everything else still works.
